Old Fashioned Apple Crumble



Ingredients:

  • 2 apples
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Crumble:

  • 30 grams (2 tablespoons) softened butter
  • 45 grams (3 tablespoons) self raising flour
  • 25 grams (2 tablespoons) brown sugar

Method:

Preheat oven to 180C
Peel, core and cut apples into small pieces.
Place apple, cinnamon and water into a small casserole dish.
Cover and place in microwave on high for approx 5 minutes.

Add sugar and stir in.

In a small bowl rub the butter and flour together until well combined.
Add brown sugar.
Place the crumble mixture on top of the apple and cook in moderate oven for about 30 minutes or until it starts to brown on top.

Serve with ice-cream and/or custard. Serves 2 - 3 people.

Old time favourite.
